Special care for special pets

Four rooms, one small hospital: veterinary care in Port Washington.

Since 1986 the practice at 2590 Highway 32 has treated each patient as a special member of the family, yours and ours. Most of what a dog or cat needs in a year happens in one of the four rooms on this page, from the yearly exam to the operating table.

Not sure which room your pet needs? Call the front desk and describe what you're seeing, and we'll set up the right kind of visit.

Wellness

Preventative health care and client education come first here. A yearly wellness examination brings lifestyle appropriate vaccinations, dental care and good nutrition, and there is always time to talk through your pet's diet and behaviour.

Diagnostics & Medicine

Blood profiles, urine studies and intestinal parasite screens are routine. Digital whole body and dental x-ray, ultrasound, blood pressure and EKG are on hand too, and abnormal tissue samples, discharges and growths are examined under the microscope.

Dentistry

Our pets can't tell us when their teeth hurt, so the dental plan covers routine cleaning and polishing, treatment of periodontal disease and extractions when they're necessary. The staff also teach a home care programme you can keep up between visits.

Surgery

Spays, neuters and growth removals, plus foreign objects from the digestive tract, stones from the bladder, abscesses and lacerations. A blood profile comes before anaesthesia, and certified veterinary technicians monitor each pet before, during and after. Cases that need more are referred, with consults to board certified specialists at the University of Wisconsin.
